PDF Compressor
Reduce PDF file size in your browser. Everything runs locally — your files never leave your device.
About This PDF Compressor Tool
The PDF Compressor here reduces PDF size by rendering each page to an image and rebuilding a new PDF using those images. This method is fast and reliable for scanned documents and image-heavy PDFs. It may change selectable text into an image; if you need exact text preservation, consider using server-side tools that perform content-aware compression.
How to Use
- Click Select PDF File and choose the PDF to compress.
- Pick a compression level (1 = best quality, 3 = highest compression).
- Click Compress PDF. Download starts when processing finishes.
Notes & Tips
- This approach works best for scanned PDFs or image-heavy PDFs.
- For PDFs with mostly selectable text, visual quality is preserved but resulting file may be larger than advanced server-side optimizers that keep text as vectors.
- Large PDFs (many pages) will require more memory and time — we process pages one at a time to reduce memory peaks.
