About the Client-Side Image Compressor

This tool helps you reduce the file size of your images (JPEG or PNG) without uploading them to a server. All the compression happens right here in your web browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. This makes the process incredibly fast and completely secure, as your images never leave your computer.

How to use:

  1. Click "Choose an image" and select a JPG or PNG file.
  2. Adjust the "Quality" slider. A lower number (like 0.5) means a smaller file size but lower quality. A higher number (like 0.9) means better quality but a larger file.
  3. Optionally, set a "Max Width/Height" to resize your image at the same time. The tool will maintain the aspect ratio.
  4. Click "Compress Image" to see the result. You'll be shown the original and new file size, and you can download your new, smaller image.
